How to export multi select attribute in single row

Hi,

Currently when we do the default export to word all multi select values are printing in different row

Eg:

Multi 1

Multi 2

Multi 3

But i want the result to be in same row separated by colon (:)

Eg:

Multi 1: Multi 2: Multi 3

Can anyone help me how to do these. The below links shows how to replace the content, But in word.dxl i am not to find where to replace.

Thanks in advance.

Changing word.dxl would be tough to do.  You need to make the change in layoutdxl or attributedxl for ease of implementation.

I think the changes would need to happen in <utils/attrutil.inc> in the fullAttributeValue_() function, specifically in the "if(ad.multi)" section, where one of the lines reads 'attrText = attrText (NLS_("\n"))' (line 352 in my version).

I hope you know what you are doing though, since changing it here will change it for everyone that uses this DOORS installation... and there might be people that rely on the newline separation.

Using a attrdxl or layoutdxl as DOORSHAM suggest might be the better solution.

Hi Wilkop and Doorsham,

Thanks for your update, I tried both but i couldn't figure out.

attrutil.inc

if (isMember(o.attrName,sEnumValue))
            {
                if (!firstValue)
                {
                   // attrText = attrText (NLS_("\n"))
                    attrText = attrText (NLS_(":"))   // Here is my modification
                }
                attrText = attrText sEnumValue
                firstValue = false

attrd.dxl:

  if (ad.dxl) {
    string dxlVal = ad.dxl

    print (NLS_(" isDxl \"")) dxlVal (NLS_("\""))       // does ad use attribute DXL ?
  }
  //print (NLS_("\n"))

  print (NLS_(":")) // Here is my changes.
}

and i cannot able to find the layout.dxl. can you please help me what i missed.

Thanks & Regards,

Shankar
